Samba Galápagos Cruise Summary

Originally built in the Netherlands as a private yacht in 1966, the Samba has been thoughtfully converted into an intimate expedition vessel offering an authentic Galápagos cruising experience. Accommodating just 14 guests, this tourist superior class yacht provides a relaxed and personalized atmosphere ideal for couples, families, photographers, and travelers seeking a more flexible small-group adventure. Accompanied by an experienced crew and certified naturalist guide, guests can enjoy attentive service and a deeper connection with the islands’ extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.

Life on board the Samba is centered around comfort and discovery. The upper deck features a covered outdoor dining area and inviting spaces for relaxing while watching seabirds and passing marine life. Inside, the cozy salon includes a small library and serves as the gathering place for daily briefings and naturalist presentations. The foredeck offers ample room for sunbathing, dolphin spotting, or simply taking in the scenery between excursions. With its classic yacht character and welcoming atmosphere, the Samba is an excellent choice for travelers who value personalized experiences over the amenities of a larger cruise ship.

Samba Galápagos Cruise: Daily Excursions & Activities

Each day aboard the Samba includes two or three guided excursions led by a certified naturalist guide. Depending on the itinerary, activities may include snorkeling with sea lions and tropical fish, kayaking along sheltered coastlines, exploring landing sites by panga (skiff), and hiking through volcanic landscapes in search of the Galápagos unique wildlife.

With its small group size, the Samba offers a more personalized excursion experience, allowing guests to enjoy the islands at a comfortable pace while gaining deeper insight into their ecosystems, geology, and conservation efforts. While many excursions are suitable for active travelers of varying abilities, the experience is generally best suited to older children, teens, and adults who can comfortably participate in the daily activities and shore landings.
