Experience From Our Interns

Check out this video, where Morgane relates her experience working with us!

Hello, my name is Iga!

In January 2026, I started my internship at Rebecca Adventure Travel as part of my Tourism Management bachelor’s degree at NHL Stenden University in the Netherlands. I found the opportunity through my university placement portal and a recommendation from one of my lecturers. I had always wanted to experience South America and was particularly drawn to Rebecca Adventure Travel because of its focus on adventure tourism, which has always been my favourite type of travel.

During my internship, I worked in the Operations department, where I was responsible for entering sales itineraries into the system, creating some other operational elements and creating messages for travelers. I also had the opportunity to create and publish newsletters on LinkedIn. Working in an international environment taught me a lot about tour operations while helping me improve my communication, problem-solving, time management, and Spanish language skills.

One of the highlights of my experience was the people I worked with. The team was incredibly open, friendly, and always willing to help, which made me feel welcome from the very beginning. Outside of work, I had the chance to discover some of Ecuador’s incredible diversity. During a familiarisation trip, I visited the Amazon, and later I travelled to the Galápagos Islands, which completely amazed me with the unique wildlife and how closely visitors can get to the animals in their natural habitat.

Ecuador surprised me in many ways. Despite being a relatively small country, it offers an incredible variety of landscapes, exceptional food, and some of the warmest and most welcoming people I have ever met. The pace of life, compared to Europe, also forced me to slow down and enjoy the moment a little more, which is, overall, a great improvement for me.

Looking back, my internship at Rebecca Adventure Travel was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. For anyone considering applying for an internship at the company, I can only say that it is an adventure worth taking.

Hi, my name is Nova!

nova internship - join the team

In February 2020, I started my internship at Rebecca Adventure Travel. It was part of my bachelor’s course in Tourism Management at Inholland University, located in the Netherlands. After I applied, I researched Ecuador and quickly fell in love with it. The country is so small but has so much to offer!

As an intern, I worked in the Marketing department, writing and translating blog posts. I was also in charge of the after-sales department and analyzed questionnaires filled in by travelers. The team at Rebecca Adventure Travel was very friendly and welcoming. I felt at home and learned a lot in a short time.

My internship was meant to last until July 2020, but because of COVID-19, I had to leave halfway through March. Because of this, I have not seen a lot of the country yet, but this gives me a great reason to return! I am still in contact with some members of the team and would love to meet them again. This internship was very valuable to me, and I am thankful for my time in Ecuador with Rebecca Adventure Travel. If you feel doubtful about applying to an internship vacancy at this company, I would definitely recommend that you do so!

Hola! My name is Joppe!

joppe intern

From March to July 2019, I was lucky enough to live for five months in Ecuador, a small but amazingly beautiful country. I was studying Tourism Management, and I did an internship at Rebecca Adventure Travel. With no expectations and no knowledge about this country, I stepped on the plane and jumped into this adventure.

I am really happy I went to this country, and very thankful to this company because they gave me the chance to explore this culture and see all of the beautiful landmarks there are in Ecuador. I learned a lot during my internship, and experienced moments, people, and a foreign country like I had never done before. Without Rebecca Adventure Travel, I wouldn’t have been able to explore so much and get so much knowledge about this country.

I worked with a very new team of enthusiastic young people. It was a nice atmosphere to work in, where everybody wanted to help one another when necessary. I worked in the marketing department, where I learned a lot while also having room to share my knowledge with the team. This was very nice and I am happy I met this amazing team!

Hello! My name is Chloë

chloe intern

I was an intern at Rebecca Adventure Travel from May until June 2019, during my last year of Tourism and Leisure Management in Brussels, Belgium at the Erasmus High School. I chose to do an internship in a foreign country because I wanted to experience a different culture. Ecuador was my first choice because a good friend of mine was born there and had so many good things to say about it!

My internship was in the marketing department of the company. I had to take care of social media, write blogs, edit the website, and so on! I loved creating blogs and content for social media because I like to be creative. You will never get bored in this internship because there are always new tasks to do.

It also gave me the possibility to travel a lot. I have been to Otavalo and Cuyabeno (Amazon) with Rebecca Adventure Travel. Cuyabeno was my favorite experience of my whole trip to Ecuador! So, if you want to learn a lot and also travel, Rebecca Adventure Travel has the perfect internship for you!
