Your grand South America luxury tour begins! Arrive in Lima, where an English-speaking guide will meet you at Jorge Chávez International Airport and accompany you on a private transfer to your hotel. The drive takes around 45 minutes, offering a first look at Peru’s coastal capital.
The rest of the day is free to settle in, rest after your travels, or explore the neighborhood independently.

Begin in Barranco, Lima’s bohemian district, on a guided food tour through its cobbled streets. Sample local specialties such as ceviche and causa limeña, try artisanal coffee, and visit family-run eateries and small galleries along the way.
In the afternoon, explore more of the city’s history and architecture, from a pre-Hispanic pyramid in Miraflores to a 16th-century monastery and Casa de Aliaga. Climb the monastery tower for panoramic views, then finish with a Pisco Sour at the historic Hotel Bolívar.

Transfer privately to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco. On arrival, meet your guide and continue to your hotel, with time to adjust to the altitude before heading out to explore.
The half-day city tour takes in Cusco’s Main Square, Cathedral, and Koricancha Temple, once the principal temple of the Inca Empire. Outside the city, visit the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.

Travel through the Sacred Valley, beginning at the Maras Salt Pans, where local families still harvest salt by hand from thousands of terraced pools. Continue to Moray, an Inca site known for its circular agricultural terraces and distinct microclimates.
Explore the stonework and temples of Ollantaytambo before stopping for lunch at Chuncho restaurant. In the afternoon, board the train to Aguas Calientes, following the Urubamba River through mountain scenery to the town below Machu Picchu.

A winding bus ride from Aguas Calientes takes you up the mountainside to Machu Picchu. With a private guide, explore the Inca citadel’s temples, terraces, and carefully constructed stone buildings during a four-hour visit.
After the tour, return to Aguas Calientes and take the train to Ollantaytambo. A private vehicle will meet you there for the drive through the Sacred Valley back to Cusco.
Entrance fee included.

Set out early for the 2.5-hour drive to the Ausangate range and the trailhead for Rainbow Mountain. The round-trip hike covers approximately 7 kilometers, beginning at 4,500 meters and climbing to around 5,200 meters.
The ascent is moderately challenging, particularly at this altitude, but the summit opens onto views of the mountain’s vividly colored mineral slopes. After time to take in the landscape, descend to your vehicle and return to Cusco.

Travel from Cusco to Puno on an eight-hour tourist-class bus journey through the high Andes, accompanied by an English-speaking guide. The route crosses open plains and mountain passes, passing traditional villages and herds of llamas and alpacas.
Along the way, stop at Racchi, the archaeological site associated with the Temple of Wiracocha, and Andahuaylillas, known for its colonial church. Continue to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Cross Lake Titicaca to Taquile, an island known for its terraced hills and longstanding textile traditions. Walk its scenic paths and learn about the community’s cooperative way of life and cultural heritage.
After a buffet lunch in Luquina, continue by boat to the Uros floating islands, constructed from totora reeds. Meet local families and learn how they maintain their homes and islands on the lake.

A private transfer takes you from Puno to Juliaca Airport, a journey of about an hour through the Andean highlands. Fly to Buenos Aires, where a driver will meet you at the domestic airport and transfer you to your hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure. Settle in or head out to a nearby café and begin getting acquainted with Argentina’s capital.

Spend the day exploring Buenos Aires independently. In La Boca, colorful buildings, murals, and music bring the neighborhood’s streets to life; Palermo offers leafy avenues, boutiques, and cafés.
You could also visit San Telmo, with its cobbled streets, antique markets, and street performers, or choose a museum, plaza, or neighborhood restaurant. The day is yours to shape around your interests.

Transfer privately to Ezeiza International Airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazú. On arrival, an English-speaking guide will meet you and take you to your hotel, about 25 minutes from the airport.
Enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. Relax at the hotel or explore the town’s artisan shops and restaurants before tomorrow’s visit to Iguazú Falls.

Explore the Argentine side of Iguazú National Park on a private guided tour. Walk the Upper and Lower Circuits, with paths and viewing platforms offering perspectives of the falls from above and below, then continue toward the immense cascade known as Devil’s Throat.
Look out for butterflies and coatis along the forest trails. If you wish, you can add a boat ride beneath the falls for a closer encounter with the water.

Transfer to Iguazú Airport and fly south to Mendoza, Argentina’s celebrated wine region. On arrival, a private driver will take you to Posada Borravino in Chacras de Coria, a small inn with eight rooms.
Spend the afternoon relaxing by the seasonal pool or enjoying a glass of local Malbec beneath the trees. The inn’s restaurant serves Argentine dishes with wines from the surrounding region, and nearby wineries offer opportunities to explore Mendoza’s wine country.

Head into the Uco Valley, where high-altitude vineyards sit beneath the Andes. Visit a selection of wineries, from small family-run producers to architecturally distinctive estates, and learn about the region’s winemaking and growing conditions.
Taste wines such as Malbec, Torrontés, and Cabernet Franc, followed by a gourmet lunch paired with local wines. Between visits, take time to walk among the vines and enjoy the mountain views.

Your Machu Picchu Patagonia Galápagos journey continues as a private transfer takes you from your hotel to Mendoza’s El Plumerillo Airport for your flight to Santiago. On arrival in Chile, meet your English-speaking guide and continue by private vehicle to your hotel.
The remainder of the day is free to rest or explore. Santiago combines modern neighborhoods and colonial architecture, with the Andes providing a dramatic backdrop to the city.

Transfer to Santiago Airport for your flight south to Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine. On arrival, continue by road toward Punta Arenas, a journey of around three hours.
The scenery changes along the way, from rugged steppe to open plains and rivers. Settle into your hotel in Punta Arenas and prepare for the days ahead in Patagonia.

Cruise across the Strait of Magellan to Magdalena Island, part of Los Pingüinos Natural Monument and home to a large colony of Magellanic penguins. Follow the island trails to observe the penguins, along with seabirds and other wildlife.
Later, take a public bus to Puerto Natales, crossing the windswept Patagonian steppe. A private transfer will bring you to the lake area, where you’ll board a catamaran from Pudeto to Paine Grande across Lake Pehoé, with views of the surrounding granite peaks.

Travel from Puerto Natales to the Laguna Amarga entrance of Torres del Paine National Park, first by private transfer and then by bus. From there, prepare for your guided trek on Grey Glacier.
With crampons and a harness, cross the ice alongside an expert guide, navigating crevasses, blue pools, and ice formations. The route offers a close look at the glacier’s changing landscape and the forces that shape it.

Follow forest paths, wooden walkways, and suspension bridges into the French Valley, one of Torres del Paine’s signature hiking routes. As you climb, views open toward the Cuernos del Paine and the surrounding peaks.
Continue toward the French Valley lookout, where the glacier and steep mountain walls form a dramatic natural amphitheater. Take a break to rest and enjoy the views before returning along the trail.

Continue along the W Trek from Los Cuernos toward Camping El Chileno. The trail follows the turquoise waters of Lake Nordenskjöld, passing streams, wildflowers, and patches of native lenga forest beneath the Cuernos del Paine.
As the route enters the Ascencio Valley, follow the river through increasingly mountainous terrain. The final stretch climbs through shaded forest to the campsite, where you’ll spend the night before the early hike to the towers.

Leave early from Camping El Chileno for the hike to the Base of Torres del Paine. The trail climbs through lenga forest and alpine terrain before the final steep section over glacial moraine.
At the top, the three granite towers rise above a glacial lagoon. After taking in the view, descend and continue by shuttle to Laguna Amarga, then by bus to Puerto Natales, where a private driver will meet you for the transfer to your hotel.

Transfer privately from Puerto Natales to the airport for your flight to Quito. An English-speaking guide will meet you on arrival and take you to your hotel, a drive of around 45 minutes.
The evening is free to rest or explore the city. Quito’s historic center, known for its preserved colonial architecture, offers a first introduction to Ecuador’s cultural heritage.

Explore Quito’s historic center on a half-day guided tour, visiting its churches, museums, and streets while learning about the city’s history and its foundations over an ancient Inca settlement. Stop at La Virgen del Panecillo for panoramic views across the city and surrounding mountains.
Later, join a hands-on cooking experience with a local chef. Visit a food market to discover Ecuadorian ingredients, then prepare three traditional dishes: locro quiteño, encocado, and chocolate fondue.

Visit the Intiñan Equator Museum, close to the Middle of the World Monument, to explore exhibits about the Equator’s cultural and scientific significance. Continue to Pululahua Crater for views across its green volcanic valley, then browse nearby artisan shops and sample a traditional empanada.
In the afternoon, travel about three hours by private vehicle to Maquipucuna Reserve. After arriving at the cloud forest lodge, get fitted with rubber boots and set out on an introductory walk through the reserve.

Start early with a birding hike from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m., when the forest is active with bird calls. Later, follow the Humedal Trail to learn about local plants and birdlife, continuing to Yumbo Waterfall, where you can take a refreshing swim.
After lunch, visit the reserve’s coffee orchard, orchid garden, and organic garden. Alternatively, choose an excursion to nearby ziplines, Tulipe Archaeological Site, or Mindo Butterfly Garden. An optional night hike offers another way to experience the forest.

Early risers can join an optional birding walk before breakfast. Then travel by private vehicle from Maquipucuna to Cotopaxi National Park, a scenic drive of about four hours through the Ecuadorian highlands.
On arrival, set out on a two-hour horseback ride through the páramo surrounding Cotopaxi Volcano. Follow your guide across the open landscape, watching for wild horses, condors, and other native wildlife, with views of the snow-capped volcano along the way.

Explore Cotopaxi National Park on a private guided hike. Begin with a walk of about an hour around Limpiopungo Lagoon, where the water reflects the volcano and the surrounding páramo supports distinctive high-altitude plants and wildlife.
Then drive up to the parking area and hike to Jorge Rivas Refuge at 4,800 meters. Your guide can adjust the pace and difficulty to suit your preferences and the conditions.

Travel through the Cañón del Río Toachi, with its steep cliffs and winding river, before visiting a local market. Depending on the day, the stop will be at Saquisilí Market on Thursday or Pujilí Market on Sunday, where you can see local Indigenous communities trading goods.
Continue through Andean villages to Quilotoa, a turquoise lake inside a volcanic crater. Walk down to the water if you wish, then enjoy a local lunch before returning to the highlands.

Leave Guamote and travel south toward Cuenca, stopping in Alausí to visit the Devil’s Train Museum. Learn about the history of the railway and take in panoramic views of the dramatic landscape surrounding its route.
Continue to Ingapirca, Ecuador’s largest Inca archaeological site. Explore the ruins, including the Temple of the Sun, before continuing by road to Cuenca.

Discover Cuenca on a guided walk through its historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore its cobbled streets and plazas, visit the New Cathedral with its blue domes, and walk beside the Tomebamba River.
In the afternoon, head to Piedra de Agua Hot Springs in Baños for a 90-minute spa circuit. The experience includes mud therapies, underground contrast baths, and time to relax on the resting terrace.

Drive from Cuenca toward Guayaquil, crossing from the high Andes to Ecuador’s coastal lowlands. Along the way, stop at Cajas National Park, known for its glacial valleys, páramo, forests, and more than 300 lakes.
Spend around two hours hiking through the park’s high-altitude landscape before continuing to Guayaquil. Arrive in the coastal city and settle into your hotel.

Enjoy a free day to explore Guayaquil independently. Walk along the Malecón 2000 waterfront, with its river views, parks, and museums, then continue to Las Peñas, the city’s historic neighborhood of colorful buildings and cobbled streets.
You might also visit Iguana Park, browse local markets, or spend time in a café. The day is yours to explore at your own pace before continuing to the Galápagos.

Take the hotel’s shuttle to Guayaquil Airport for your flight to Baltra. On arrival, complete the required luggage inspection and entry procedures before meeting your guide and crossing by ferry to Santa Cruz.
Continue by road through the highlands to Puerto Ayora, stopping to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Walk through the forest and lava tunnels, and enjoy lunch at a highland ranch while learning about the island’s wildlife.

Spend the day exploring one of the Galápagos’ uninhabited islands. The destination depends on the day of the week and availability, and may include Santa Fe, South Plaza, Bartolomé, or North Seymour. Each offers its own volcanic landscapes, plants, and wildlife.
A guided snorkeling excursion brings you into the surrounding marine environment, where you can look for fish and other sea life. Return to Puerto Ayora in the afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Enjoy a free morning in Puerto Ayora, with time to relax, browse local shops and cafés, or explore the waterfront. In the afternoon, transfer to the pier and board the 3 p.m. public speedboat to Isabela, a crossing of around two hours.
Sea conditions can be rough, so consider bringing motion-sickness remedies if needed. On arrival, pay the Isabela visitor tax, present your passport, and meet your driver for the short transfer to your hotel in Puerto Villamil.

Head to the pier for your speedboat trip to Los Túneles, departing at either 7 a.m. or 11 a.m., depending on availability. The journey takes around 45 minutes and brings you to a coastal landscape shaped by lava flows, with clear, shallow water and distinctive rock formations.
With your guide, explore the area’s lava arches and underwater tunnels while looking for sea turtles, rays, and tropical fish. A snack or boxed lunch is included, depending on your departure time, before you return to Puerto Villamil.

Meet your guide for a kayak excursion in Puerto Villamil Bay. Paddle along Isabela’s coast, watching for tropical fish, sea turtles, Galápagos penguins, blue-footed boobies, sharks, and shorebirds.
After kayaking, return to your hotel before transferring to Isabela Airport. Take a short flight to San Cristóbal, where a driver will meet you and take you to your hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.

Set out by boat for Kicker Rock, also known as León Dormido, a pair of volcanic formations rising about 140 meters above the sea. The site lies roughly an hour off the coast of San Cristóbal and is known for its marine life.
Snorkel in the channel between the rocks, looking for sharks, manta rays, and schools of fish. The excursion also includes time on a beach and a short hike for coastal views, with lunch served onboard before returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.

Spend a free day enjoying San Cristóbal at your own pace. Relax on a beach, explore the town, or revisit a favorite place from your earlier excursions.
You could also walk along the coast, browse local shops, or stop at a café to watch island life go by. The day is open for rest or independent exploration before your departure.

A short transfer takes you from your hotel to San Cristóbal Airport for your flight to Guayaquil, which takes approximately two hours.
On arrival in Guayaquil, connect with your onward flight. This marks the end of your South America journey. Your great South America luxury tour has come to an end!
