Your 7-day Galápagos island-hopping tour begins! We recommend arriving at Baltra Airport before 12:00 PM so you can enjoy the complete itinerary. Your English-speaking guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you to Puerto Ayora for lunch before the public speedboat to Isabela Island. The crossing takes about two hours, so a light waterproof jacket and motion sickness medication are recommended if you’re prone to seasickness.
If your flight arrives after 12:00 PM, you’ll spend your first night on Santa Cruz, as the final speedboat to Isabela departs around 3:00 PM. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll visit either Tortuga Bay or the Charles Darwin Research Station before continuing the itinerary the following day.

This morning, explore Isabela’s wetlands on a guided hike through mangroves, lava formations, and coastal lagoons. Visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center, Flamingo Lagoon, the Wall of Tears historical landmark, and a small lava tunnel while learning about the island’s unique ecosystems.
After lunch, board a small boat to Tintoreras Islet, where volcanic trails lead past marine iguanas, penguins, and sea lions. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for walking across the lava rock.

Today, cruise from Puerto Villamil to Los Túneles, one of the Galápagos’ premier snorkeling sites. Swim through calm lava channels while searching for sea turtles, reef sharks, rays, penguins, sea lions, marine iguanas, and colorful tropical fish.
The excursion lasts approximately six hours, including the boat journey, a short walk across the lava formations, and a light snack before returning to Isabela.

After an early speedboat to Santa Cruz Island, visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about the conservation of the Galápagos giant tortoise and the islands’ unique wildlife.
Later, head to Tortuga Bay, where a scenic walk leads to one of the archipelago’s most beautiful beaches. Relax on the white sand, swim in the calm waters, or watch marine iguanas, pelicans, and shorebirds along the coast.

Today, you’ll visit either Santa Fe or Pinzón Island, depending on Galápagos National Park regulations and daily operating schedules.
If visiting Santa Fe, snorkel in its sheltered bay before enjoying time at Playa Escondida or nearby Garrapatero Beach. On Pinzón, explore secluded coves where sea lions, marine iguanas, sea turtles, reef sharks, and tropical fish thrive. You’ll also take part in a traditional experiential fishing activity that highlights local fishing traditions.
Please note: Wet landings require stepping from the boat into shallow water, so expect to get your feet—and possibly your clothes—wet.

This morning, explore Academy Bay by boat, stopping at La Lobería, Punta Camaño, the Channel of Love, and Playa de los Perros. Along the way, snorkel with sea lions and observe marine iguanas, shorebirds, and colorful reef fish.
Later, travel into the Santa Cruz Highlands to visit a private reserve where giant tortoises roam freely. A short walk through the volcanic landscape offers one last opportunity to experience the islands’ remarkable wildlife.

After breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Baltra Airport for your flight to mainland Ecuador (Quito or Guayaquil). This concludes your grand 7-day Galápagos island hopping tour!

Island hopping costs less, gives you evenings in town and lets you change activities. A cruise reaches uninhabited islands that day boats cannot, but fixes your daily schedule. Read our full article Galápagos cruise or land.
Moderate. The longest walk is the trail to Tortuga Bay, about 2.5 kilometres each way on a flat paved path. Everything else is short and optional.
It is strongly recommended and some activities require it. Medical evacuation from the islands to the mainland is expensive and standard policies often exclude it.
