Beautiful, Safe, Ecuador! Get your cameras ready!!
Rebecca Adventure Travel worked with us to customize a 15 day, self-driven tour from the top of the country to the bottom of the country within the Ecuadorian Andes mountains. It’s was a fast paced trip but so worth being able to see the center of the country as well as some of own adventures. We planned the trip well in advance and selected each destination with purpose. Rebecca Adventure Travel did the rest. Fine hotels, excellent guides, car rental, attractions, some meals, and they provided FULL TIME guidance throughout the trip. We are well pleased with the team, communication was excellent and the hotels were beyond our expectations. We will use Rebecca Adventure Travel again and highly recommend their services. A trip to remember!
We booked the 23-Day Complete Ecuador & Galapagos tour through Juan in the Rebecca office. From the start there was clear communication and a helpful attitude, nothing was a problem. This continued throughout the whole trip. The guides were awesome and Carlos and the Operations team were always on call to help us if we needed it. This was a fantastic tour which covered all the main attractions including a week in the Galapagos islands which was amazing. I highly recommend Rebecca Adventure Travel!

Zorgeloos reizen in Ecuador!
Met Rebbeca’s Adventure traveling een individuele reis geboekt. 26 dagen Ecuador en de Galapagos eilanden en o.a. Quito, Mindo, Amazone, heetwaterbronnen, Cuenca, Baños en nog veel meer. Wat een fantastische reis hadden we. Eerst met ons gezin en halverwege sloten onze vrienden vanuit Aruba aan. Alles was perfect geregeld. Eigen busje met vaste gids en chauffeur. Bij iedere volgende locatie een update vanaf kantoor met de details voor de volgende bestemming. Hierdoor hadden we een zorgeloze tijd en hebben we Ecuador echt mogen leren kennen en beleven!   • DAY 1: Arrival at The Lodge

    12:00 Start of the tour to Itamandi Ecolodge.
    At Arajuno River Bridge you take a motorized canoe upstream for 20 minutes until you reach Itamandi.

    During the journey, you can see the magic and beauty of the Amazon jungle.

    At the dock, the staff will welcome you and brief information about your accommodation and activities. (Approximate hours)

    13:30 Lunch 15:00 Tubbing *

    After having tasted a delicious meal and being comfortable; You will be prepared for our first activity in the Amazon jungle.

    18:30 Night Walk (optional)

    A flashlight and camera are the most important tools on this night excursion, which allows guests to hear and catch the night sounds of fishing bats, owls, some insects, tarantulas, toads, frogs, and possibly snakes. If the sky is clear, you could have the opportunity to observe a large number of stars.

  • DAY 2: Kichwa Comunity

    7:00 – 8:30 Breakfast

    9:00 or 9:30 Departure for a long walk

    After breakfast, you go on a walk through the primary and secondary forests. This activity lasts about 21⁄2 to 3 hours.

    13:00 Lunch

    14:30 Visit to the community

    In the afternoon it is time to enjoy a cultural activity. An Amazonian Kichwa community will receive us and we will learn about their way of life and the interaction they have with the forest. In this meeting, that part of the Amazon is not found on the maps. the Amazonian peoples in their daily lives. Part of our visit to the community is to share the famous “chicha”, a fermented cassava drink that has become part of their parties and daily consumption. We will participate in the preparation of this drink and try some of the traditional dishes. We will end the visit with a traditional dance performed by the children of the community and we will also have time to buy some handicrafts made by the natives of the area. This small business is very helpful to support the daily life of the indigenous peoples of the area.

  • DAY 3: Anaconda Island – Rescue Center

    If you chose the 3-day 2-night tour, here your tour ends.

    Early in the morning, there will be an excursion to observe birds, parrots, and parakeets, if weather conditions permit.

    After breakfast is the checkout.

    If your tour is 4 days and 3 nights, please read on, as you will do on your third day of the tour.

    8:00 Breakfast

    9:00 AM AmaZOOnico and Anaconda Island
    You will take the canoe for about 40 minutes to visit “Anaconda Island”. You will observe the prehistoric bird “Hoatzin”, woolly monkeys, and squirrel monkeys, just to mention a few. You also visit a family in one of the indigenous communities to learn about their cultivation habits, medicinal plants, as well as the ancestral form of hunting with blowguns and handmade traps in the forest.

    A delicious box lunch will be provided on this trip.

    After lunch, we will go to the AmaZOOnico, which is protecting a number of different animals, some endangered. AmaZOOnico is not a zoo, but a rescue center for Amazon animals in Ecuador. We can observe some animals in their natural environment at close range. After that, we will return to Itamandi EcoLodge to enjoy the hotel facilities.

  • DAY 4: Parrot Saladero - Departure Form Lodge

    5:45 – 6:00 Departure to Saladero (according to the weather) *

    Early in the morning, we take a 15-minute canoe ride upstream to visit the Parrot Saladero and appreciate a unique place where parrots and parakeets gather in order to obtain the minerals that will help them digest the fruits or seeds that have consumed Hundreds of parrots and parakeets will approach the tree- tops and then go down to the clay wall to eat this mineral-rich land. It is essential to have some binoculars to enjoy this magnificent natural act.

    7:00 – 8:30 Breakfast
    9:00 Departure and motorized canoe ride for 20 minutes to the Arajuno bridge. End of the tour.

  • To enter Ecuador, your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your intended departure from the country.
  • Prices are subject to seasonal surcharges during Christmas, New Year’s, and Semana Santa.
  • For children under the age of 12, there is a 10% discount.

  • Another option to reach the lodge is by canoe, with an extra fee of $60 total, for up to 12 people. From Misahualli to the entrance of the Pusuno River, it will take 1 hour approximately, and then a hike of almost 30 minutes.
  • Pack a few plastic bags to shield your camera, passports, and ID from unexpected rain.
  • Some activities in the Amazon, such as caiman searching, depend on weather conditions.
  • If you love observing wildlife, consider bringing binoculars. Opt for 10×40 for an enhanced experience.
  • It is suggested to have valid travel and medical insurance that includes COVID-19 coverage. Please inform the team of any known medical conditions you have.
