The northern indigenous town of Otavalo is known as the handicraft capital of Ecuador. It is a beautiful city located beside the Imbabura Volcano, within the Imbabura Province. The city of Otavalo is also home to one of the largest indigenous populations in Ecuador. In this enchanting town, you will have an intimate experience focused on colorful hand-made textiles, family artisan workshops, and total cultural immersion as you taste and savor the Andean gastronomy this unique area is known for.

Itinerary

OTAVALO EXPERIENCE
08:00 Pick up at your hotel in Quito and begin driving to Otavalo.

10:00 Stop for hot coffee or hot chocolate and a tasting of local ¨biscochos¨ at San Pablo Lake overlooking Imbabura Volcano.

11:00 Visit the Peguche waterfalls. (Optional Pamba Mesa lunch with additional cost)

12:30 Visit Otavalo’s indigenous market and local lunch (included). Explore EcuaFina‘s luxury handmade products.

14:30 Demonstration of Peguche Wasi and the artisanal textile.

16:00 Drive back to Quito
