8 Years of Rebecca Adventure Travel

Rebecca Adventure Travel is celebrating its anniversary! Eight years ago (10th of June 2015), Rebecca Adventure Travel was born, an innovative female-owned Boutique Tour Operator, with the purpose of showing travelers unique hidden treasures in Ecuador & The Galapagos, Peru, and Colombia.

It started with just me, and now we are a team of 18 people, all focused on authentic and unique adventure travel, offering (preferably family-owned) hotels, high-quality tours, great service, and last but not least, value for money.

For the anniversary of Rebecca Adventure Travel, I would like to look back and revisit some of our achievements. Over these years, we have reached many milestones, and I would like to share some of them with you:

TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

For six consecutive years (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021), we have obtained the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence. We have received over 1000 5-star verified reviews on different platforms, including Tripadvisor, Trustpilot, and OTAs. These reviews are not only a great way of promoting our tour operator, but it is giving our team an amazing feeling of satisfaction to see the result of our hard work!

Rebecca Adventure Travel Community

It would have been impossible to reach success by myself, that is why I am so happy to count on the help of my team, my family, all our travelers who trusted us, and all our followers on the different social media channels. We have now almost 8k followers on Facebook, 5k followers on Instagram, 4.5k followers on LinkedIn, more than 200 followers on TikTok, almost 200 videos, and more than 200 subscribers, on Youtube!

Responsible Travel

One of my main goals to stay in Ecuador and start a tour operator is to help the local community. Therefore, I am so proud of our membership with Responsible Travel. They really appreciate responsible tour operators from all over the world. One of the initiatives we have been supporting for years is Local Dreamers, a foundation in the South of Quito that provides English lessons, soccer lessons, and swimming lessons to the less fortunate youth in that area. In 2022, Rebecca Adventure Travel partnered with the Sponsor a School (Apadrina una Escuela) strategy in order to contribute to the community through education. Antonio de Ulloa School, based in Puembo, Ecuador, was in need of urgent renovation. That’s why in June 2022, a minga (collective work) and a crowdfunding campaign got started in order to help the 297 kids that attend the school.

• Safe Travels Certification, approved by the World Travel & Tourism Council, recognizes governments and businesses that practice safe travel protocols.
• SGR is the largest guarantee fund in the Netherlands and the first guarantee fund for travel money in Europe. 
• Distintivo Q (Certificate of quality & sustainability) obtained from the Quito municipality.
• General Liability Insurance, with Aon Empower Results, covers the occurrence of damage and/or death and/or property damage including consequential damages.

Offices!

In 2019, we opened our own “travel concept store” in the Netherlands, EcuaFina, where we promote Ecuadorian handicrafts besides our holiday trips. In Ecuador, we also had a big move; from the center of Quito, our office moved to Cumbaya, to a quiet residential area close to the airport. We have now a spacious office! The altitude difference compared to Quito is about – 600 meters, so it is usually a lot warmer in Cumbaya.
