Additional information

Quito Cooking Class is a half-day tour that takes you to the local food market in the Historic Center of Quito for an intense culinary experience. First, the chef goes to the market with you and explains everything you need to know about Ecuadorian endemic fruits and vegetables. Then, you will prepare traditional Ecuadorian dishes in a cozy restaurant.

Before the Quito Cooking Class begins, you will receive a chef’s hat, an apron, and a mini recipe book with 3 dishes you will be cooking. During the cooking class, you will prepare three traditional Ecuadorian dishes: Locro Quiteño (potato stew), Encocado (fish stew), and Chocolate soup. The cooking class usually starts around 11:30 AM. However, because it’s a private tour, you can send us an email if you would like to change the time. You can also integrate the Quito Cooking Class tour into a Quito City Tour for a complete culinary experience.

*Note: Please note the market is only open until 15.00 from Monday – Saturday so if you choose to do the Quito Cooking Class tour at night you won’t go to the market.
