Quito Cooking Class is a half-day tour that takes you to the local food market in the Historic Center of Quito for an intense culinary experience. First, the chef goes to the market with you and explains everything you need to know about Ecuadorian endemic fruits and vegetables. Then, you will prepare traditional Ecuadorian dishes in a cozy restaurant.
Before the Quito Cooking Class begins, you will receive a chef’s hat, an apron, and a mini recipe book with the three Ecuadorian dishes the chef has selected for the class. These may include Locro Quiteño (potato stew), Encocado (fish stew), Chocolate fondue, and others. The cooking class usually starts around 11:30 am. However, when booking you can let us know if you would like to change the time.
Upon request, you can also have an enhanced Deluxe Cooking Experience at the beautiful 17th-century Franciscan “San Diego” convent; contact us for more information.
You can also integrate the Quito Cooking Class tour into a Quito City Tour for a complete culinary experience.
*Note: Please note the market is only open until 15.00 from Monday – Saturday so if you choose to do the Quito Cooking Class tour at night you won’t go to the market.
