TOUR SUMMARY

This half-day tour takes you to the local food market in the historical center of Quito, and to a very cozy restaurant where you will prepare your traditional Ecuadorian dishes during the Quito Gastronomic Experience. The chef goes to the market with you and explains to you about the endemic fruits and vegetables.

Before the cooking class begins in the Quito Gastronomic Experience, you will be given a chef’s hat, an apron, and a mini recipe book with 3 dishes you will be cooking. These recipes that you will cook are traditional Ecuadorian dishes: Locro Quiteño, Encocado, and a Chocolate soup. The cooking class usually starts around 11:30 AM, but since it is a private tour you can send us an email if you would like to change the time. You can also integrate this tour into a Quito city tour.

*Note: Please note the market is only open until 15.00 from Monday – Saturday so if you choose to do the cooking class at night you won’t go to the market.
