Itinerary
DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN LIMA
On arrival to Lima, our representative will wait for you at the airport to transfer you to the hotel. For customers arriving in the late evening, we offer the option to upgrade your hotel to the 4 star Costa del Sol Hotel which is directly connected to the airport. If you opt for the airport hotel, you can make your own way over to this hotel and check-in. You will find that it is just a short walk away from the airport arrival lounge.

DAY 2 LIMA – PARACAS
For the second day of your Hidden Treasures Peru, you will have an early morning transfer from your hotel to the bus station where you will board your VIP cruise-coach to Paracas. The bus departs at 07:30 AM, taking you along the coastal road to Paracas, and arriving at 11:00 AM. On your arrival to Paracas, we will take you to your hotel. After your check-in, you will have time for lunch, and then, a free afternoon to relax.

DAY 3 BALLESTAS ISLANDS – THE NATIONAL RESERVE OF PARACAS
You will be picked up at your hotel for your excursion to the Ballestas Islands. In Peru, people call these islands the “small Galapagos” because of its abundant wildlife. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the Islands by boat. Here you can observe hundreds of sea lions and seals. A large variety of seabirds are found here as well such as flamingos, pelicans, boobies and many others. After exploring the Ballestas islands, you will continue with an excursion to the National Reserve of Paracas. You will visit the “Mirador de Lobos”, “The Catedral”, Lagunillas and Yumaque beaches, “La Aguada” and “El Obelisco de la Independencia”. After this you will return to your hotel in Ica, where we have the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 4 PARACAS – NAZCA
This morning will be at leisure, you can relax around your hotel by the pool until it is time for your evening cruiser-bus to Nazca. (There are other excursions available in case you are interested, please consult us). The journey will take about two and a half hours, passing through the desert plains to Nazca. On your arrival, you will be taken to your hotel.

DAY 5 NAZCA LINES – CHAUCHILLA CEMETERY – KANTALLOC
This morning you have the chance to take an optional tour: a flight over the Nazca Lines. In the afternoon, you will start your excursion to visit Nazca, including the amazing aqueducts of Kantalloc, and the ceramic and gold processing ateliers. In the evening, you will embark in a comfortable bus-ride on sleeper seats at 10:00 PM for our journey to Arequipa. Hotel in Nazca for day use included.

DAY 6 AREQUIPA
On your arrival to Arequipa, you will be taken to your hotel where you can relax the rest of the morning. Continuing your Hidden Treasures Peru trip, you will have an afternoon city tour. You will get to visit the Main Square, Yanahuara church and its observatory, Arequipa’s most important churches, like San Francisco, the Compañia de Jesus’ famous cloisters, colonial houses, and a special visit to the Santa Catalina Convent and Cloisters.

DAY 7 COLCA CANYON
Transfer to Colca Canyon. Drive across Pampa Cañahuas, at the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, the habitat of herds of vicuñas. You will make a stop at the Mirador de Los Andes, the crater of Chucura, and the Mirador of Chivay, where beautiful pre-Columbian terrace gardens, which are still being cultivated by native Collaguas, can be observed. Arrival at the town of Chivay, and transfer to your hotel. Free time to enjoy the hot springs.

DAY 8 COLCA CANYON
Morning departure to the “Condor’s Cross” from where the great Andean bird, the Condor, may be seen usually flying in circles above the canyon. On the way back to Chivay, you will visit the Mirador of Chinina, where you will find the famous Hanging Tombs.

DAY 9 COLCA CANYON – PUNO
After breakfast, you will have the morning free to relax before you board your afternoon bus to Puno which departs at 01:30 PM and arrives around 06:00 PM. You will enjoy a free evening for your day 9 of your Hidden Treasures Peru tour.

DAY 10 LAKE TITICACA
Today, you will leave for the port where a boat will be waiting for you to visit one of the highest lakes in the world (3800 meters / 12467.19 feet). You will explore the floating island of Uros, inhabited by traditional fisherman. You will continue the tour by visiting the island of Taquile, where the local people are experts in traditional weaving techniques. Return to Puno, and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 11 PUNO – CUSCO
Bus ride to Cusco. You will visit 4 archaeological sites. Places you will visit: Pukara, to find litho-sculptures made by the Pukara civilization. La Raya, the highest point and limit between Puno and Cusco. Raqchi, a temple dedicated to worship the God Wiracocha. And, the church of Andahuaylillas, one of the best-preserved examples of Andean religious art. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
*LAKE TITICACA TRAIN (Alternative Option)
Morning transfer to the train station of Puno. The train will be waiting for your railway journey to Cusco, which runs on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The glass-walled observation coach provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery. First class lunch is served aboard. On arrival in Cusco we take you to your hotel.

DAY 12 CUSCO CITY TOUR
In the afternoon, your guide will meet you at the hotel for your Cusco city tour, which includes visits to the archaeological sites of Qoricancha temple and the Cathedral in the main square, and then continuing to see the famous 12 angle stone. From this point, your car will take you to the megalithic site of Sacsayhuaman , Qenko and Tambomachay, finishing back at your hotel.

DAY 13 SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
Today, you will go for a full day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will visit a colorful handicraft market of Pisac. Next, you will get to Urubamba for lunch. After lunch, you will continue to Ollantaytambo, where you can visit its Archaeological site. Ollantaytambo is an attractive little town located at the western end of the Sacred Valley. The town has been built on top of original Inca foundations which protected the strategic entrance to the lower Urubamba Valley. At the end of your tour, you will go to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

DAY 14 SHORT INCA TRAIL OR TRAIN TO MACHU PICCHU
Morning transfer to the train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes. On arrival to Aguas Calientes, the hotel staff will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel. The rest of today is free to explore Machu Picchu by yourself, and climb Huayna Picchu mountain, or take a walk to the Inca bridge (Puente Inca). You could also take the hike to the Mandor Waterfall.
*SHORT INCA TRAIL (Alternative Option)
You’ll board a train on Ollantaytambo station and disembark at Km 104 to begin the hike. You will cross the Urubamba River and emerge from the cloud forest at Wiñaywayna, a beautiful ceremonial site. You’ll continue the hike to the Sun Gate to get a first view of Machu Picchu. The final stretch of the trail will take you to the citadel itself. After that, you’ll take a bus to your hotel.

DAY 15 MACHU PICCHU
This day, you will start early. After having breakfast with your guide, you will take the bus up to the citadel of Machu Picchu, just on time to catch the first rays of sunlight over the citadel. The guide will slowly show you around the main areas, explaining some theories about the building techniques the Incas used, and recounting myths and legends passed down over the centuries. At noon, it will be time to have lunch in town, and at a convenient time, you will have to be at the train station to board the return train to Ollantaytambo station. Then you will be transferred back to Cusco.

DAY 16 FLIGHT TO LIMA
This is your last day in Cusco, and the last day of your Hidden Treasures Peru Tour. In the morning you will be taken to Cusco Airport for your flight to Lima.
*LIMA CITY TOUR (Alternative Option)
On arrival to Lima, you will be transferred to the drop-off/pick up point in Miraflores, in front of the Marriott Hotel. You will have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will be picked up for your Lima City Tour, and after the tour is done, you will be dropped back to Marriott Hotel, and then taken to the airport for your international flight.
Machu Picchu: Round-trip bus tickets and entrance tickets to the Sanctuary on the excursion day.

LAKE TITICACA TRAIN TO CUSCO alternative option for Day 11 is available at an additional cost. Train operation Puno to Cusco: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Alternatively, an early morning or afternoon flight from Juliaca to Cusco is possible. Please consult for these options as they are not included in our program.
The short Inca trial on day 14 has an additional cost. For this trail you need a trekking permit, so make sure to book this tour at least three months in advance.
