A.M.: You will arrive at Baltra Island around noon and be greeted in the lobby by our guide, who will drive you to the cruise. A crew member will manage your baggage and transport it via small Zodiac to the yacht, where the captain and crew will welcome you aboard. P.M.: Discover the wonders of the Galapagos at the world-renowned Charles Darwin Research Center, just a 10-minute walk from downtown Puerto Ayora. A.M.: The adventure continues on the stunning Española Island, beginning with a visit to Gardner Bay. This pristine beach is a haven for sea lions, marine iguanas, and the bold Española mockingbird, inviting you to immerse in its vibrant wildlife scene.

P.M.: Punta Suárez offers a mesmerizing journey into the heart of marine life, where you can observe the nesting of blue-footed and Nazca boobies, along with the captivating mating dances of waved albatross (April to December). The path is adorned with vividly colored marine iguanas (January) and serene Galapagos sea lions, leading to a breathtaking view of the famous blowhole.

A.M.: Lobos Island was named after the two species of sea lions that inhabit it, those related to the California sea lions, and those related to the ones in Antarctica. Explore the island’s protected channel, offering fantastic snorkeling opportunities in its pristine waters. A nesting colony of blue-footed boobies comes to Lobos each year to raise their chicks.

P.M.: Pitt Point, is at the far eastern edge of San Cristobal. Following a wet landing directly onto the beach you’ll be welcomed by the friendly and noisy barking of the local colony of Galápagos Sea Lions! This is actually a bachelor colony of males who haven’t held a breeding territory, and they can sometimes be the worse for wear if they have been fighting on one of the breeding beaches elsewhere.

A.M.: You’ll start your Santa Fe tour on the white beach where sea lions are usually seen resting. This island is home to the endemic species of land iguana, larger and yellower than land iguanas on other islands. The largest prickly pear cacti in the Galapagos are also found here.

P.M.: Colorful Plaza Sur is home to vibrant green prickly pears, deep red Sesuvium, and coppery-orange land iguanas. A variety of coastal birds make their home at the impressive seaward cliffs. This is also a great place to observe the adult and pup sea lions swimming along the shores.

A.M.: Today we visit Genovesa Island, also known as “Bird Island”. Darwin Bay, nestled within the caldera of a dormant volcano, welcomes visitors with a serene small coral beach. A leisurely stroll awaits those seeking a relaxed exploration. This unique site is lined with red mangrove and soft-haired prickly pear cacti where red-footed boobies and great frigatebirds perch tamely.

P.M.: Prince Philip’s Steps, also known as El Barranco, is a popular visitor site where tropicbirds, red-footed boobies, and other nesting seabirds can be found. We walk up a cliff through a Palo Santo forest to a storm petrel colony, passing red-footed and Nazca boobies and great frigatebirds along the way.

A.M.: On Santiago Island’s eastern coast sits Sullivan Bay. Take a walk along Pahoehoe lava (approximately 1 hour), which was created by an eruption that occurred here in 1897. With some luck, you might see some marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs, sea lions, finches, turtles, sharks, and penguins. During your walk, as always, your naturalist guide will take you through the geological history of the island.

P.M.: Experience deepwater snorkeling during a visit to Bartolomé Island, involving a dry landing and a nature walk. Despite its desolate landscape with sparse vegetation, Bartolomé is the most visited and photographed island in the Galapagos. The island features an extinct volcano and a stunning array of red, orange, green, and glistening black volcanic formations, with the iconic tuff cone known as Pinnacle Rock as its standout feature.

P.M.: Visit Chinese Hat, a small island with white sandy beaches and unique volcanic landscapes. Observe sea lions and penguins resting and nesting on the rocks. Enjoy an easy hike followed by snorkeling to spot reef sharks, sea turtles, penguins, and sea lions. This 3-hour activity promises an unforgettable marine adventure.

Your Galápagos adventure ends with the arrival of your ship back at Baltra Island. After what many guests describe as an emotional goodbye to your ship and its crew, you’ll board the transfer vehicle that will take you on the short journey to the airport in plenty of time for your flight back to the mainland.

Baroness Viewpoint is named after the enigmatic Baroness Eloise von Wagner, who vanished in the 1930s, leaving behind tales of adventure and intrigue.

The bay unveils a mesmerizing display of marine life that includes graceful sea turtles, lively penguins, elegant rays, and singular marine iguanas. Snorkeling enthusiasts will enjoy vibrant coral reefs beneath the sun-kissed waves.

A.M.: Your Urbina Bay excursion begins on a black-sand beach that serves as a nesting site for green sea turtles. Admire the remains of a geological uplift exposing coral heads and marine fossils. P.M.: Cross the Bolívar Channel from Isabela Island to Fernandina Island, one of the world’s most unspoiled sites, and disembark at Punta Espinosa. Strolling along the shoreline, you can spot flightless cormorants; Galapagos sea lions, penguins, and hawks; sooty-colored marine iguanas; and bright red-orange sally lightfoot crabs.

A.M.: Back on Isabela, Tagus Cove is a historic pirate hideaway where names of countless ships are recorded for posterity on the cliff face. Hike through beautiful landscapes to Darwin Lake, a saltwater crater lagoon surrounded by tuff stone.

P.M.: At Punta Vicente Roca, a dinghy will take you around the beautiful coastline to find the perfect snorkeling spot. The underwater cliffs found here are filled with enough colors and marine life, like rays and puffer fish, to amaze everyone visiting them for the first time. On land, keep an eye out for penguins, blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and sea lions.

A.M.: Transition to Buccaneer Cove through scenic panga (dinghy) rides. This historic site, less than an hour from Puerto Egas, served as a refuge for pirates, sailors, and whalers during the 18th and 19th centuries. Immerse yourself in the tales of this haven, where ships found respite for repairs, and explorers stocked up on essential supplies. Deepwater snorkeling adds a marine dimension to this historical journey.

P.M.: Head to Egas Port, a black-sand beach on the west side of James Bay, northwest of Santiago Island. It’s home to some amazing volcanic tuff formations. Take a stroll along the beach with the native marine iguanas, pelicans, finches, mockingbirds, oystercatchers, Galapagos sea lions, and Galapagos fur seals. You can see the amazing tidal pools, formed from ancient lava flow, providing a home for sponges, snails, hermit crabs, barnacles, and fish.

A.M.: Head to Bachas Beach where the sand is made of decomposed coral, making it soft and white, and a favorite site for nesting sea turtles. The name is a nod to the World War II barges wrecked offshore. Experience a wet landing for snorkeling, swimming, and wildlife observation. Keep an eye out for great blue herons, small waders like sanderlings, and semi-palmated plovers around the saltwater lagoon.

P.M.: North Seymour is one of the most visited islands of the Galapagos. Explore the island on foot, spotting blue-footed boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, and the unique relationship between boobies and frigatebirds. Look out for land iguanas, marine iguanas, sea lions, and the endemic incense tree. Afterward, cool off with a snorkeling session and encounter a variety of fish, white-tipped reef sharks, rays, and sea lions.
